The demolition phase of the repair work, necessary before we can reopen the pool, began on Saturday, January 6, 2024. The milestone was celebrated by Mills-Peninsula Medical Center CEO Darian Harris, community groups and elected officials. Sutter Health requested the public’s input on the colors for the pool edging and wording outside the locker rooms and received 64 votes before voting concluded on November 9, 2023. With 53% of the votes, **_Spa\*_** tile color for the pool edge and **_Navy_** tile color for the words spelling out “Men” and “Women” on the floor outside the locker rooms won. \***_Spa_** _is just the brand name of the color and not a new feature at the pool._ Thank you for your input! **October 25, 2023** Sutter Health is committed to re-opening the Mickelson Center warm water therapy pool which was closed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Closed at the start of the pandemic in 2020, the pool could not be reopened without repairs. After obtaining the necessary licenses and permits for construction, Sutter is on track for an anticipated re-opening of the pool for its patients in early summer 2024, pending no unforeseen delays. We are committed to listening to and including our community as we reopen the pool.
