Atkin, M.D., Receives AAOS’ 2021 Humanitarian Award") **_Dr. Atkin, a fixture in the orthopedic community, has received a notable industry recognition after 25 years’ service in San Francisco and beyond._** SAN FRANCISCO – The [American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons](https://c212.net/c/link/?t=0&l=en&o=3276235-1&h=2792742241&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aaos.org%2F&a=American+Academy+of+Orthopaedic+Surgeons) (AAOS) presented its 2021 Humanitarian Award to Dave M. Atkin, M.D., FAAOS, of San Francisco on September 2, 2021. Dr. Atkin is a longtime orthopedic surgeon affiliated with Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center. The AAOS Humanitarian Award honors members who have distinguished themselves through outstanding musculoskeletal-related humanitarian activities in the United States or abroad. Dr. Atkin was recognized for more than 25 years of humanitarian efforts with a steadfast commitment and dedication to serving underserved communities and people in need, including his work with at Sutter’s [CPMC Mission Bernal campus](https://www.sutterhealth.org/for-patients/mission-bernal-cpmc), and leadership roles at [Operation Rainbow](https://operationrainbow.org/) and the [MeWater Foundation](https://www.mewaterfoundation.org/).
