# New CEO Leads Sutter Memorial Medical Center

Longtime CFO Tracy Roman steps up as CEO of Sutter Memorial Medical Center, bringing years of Central Valley healthcare leadership to the role.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.,— Tracy Roman is the new CEO for Sutter Memorial Medical Center.

Roman most recently served as the chief financial officer for Sutter Memorial Medical Center, Sutter Memorial Hospital Los Banos and Sutter Tracy Community Hospital in the Central Valley. Known for excelling in both financial and operational leadership, her contributions toward expanding patient access have been substantial. She has been a major driver of service line development and expansion, including those supporting women’s and children’s health, as well as cancer care. She also has been a major champion of quality and safety improvements, and securing capital investments for infrastructure and strategic growth designed to help care for more people in Modesto and those from surrounding areas. Prior to joining Sutter Health in 2019, Roman served in leadership positions at several area hospitals in the market for 18 years including the chief operating officer role at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

“Tracy’s dedication to her role has been evident, and the depth and breadth of her experience positions her very well to lead our hospital teams,” said Gino Patrizio, president of Sutter Health’s Greater Central Valley Market.  “We are enthusiastic about the positive impact she will continue to make on our organization as we work to expand and improve healthcare accessibility to meet the growing demand of our services in the Central Valley.”

“I’ve called the Central Valley home for decades, and I have been privileged to work over the years alongside the physicians, nurses, clinicians and other team members who deeply care for this community,” said Roman. “I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve in this new capacity at Sutter Memorial Medical Center and look forward to what our teams can accomplish together to best support patients and their families.”

Roman holds a master’s degree from the University of Southern California in healthcare administration and a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Stanislaus in accounting.
