Sutter Health has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the nation’s 2026 “100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs”. The annual list recognizes organizations that deliver exceptional cancer care while advancing research, innovation and access for patients.

From prevention and early detection to treatment and survivorship, Sutter is helping redefine what comprehensive cancer care can look like for patients and families,” said Dr. Amanda Wheeler, chair of Sutter Health’s Advanced Cancer Service Line. “This honor reflects the work happening across Sutter to improve access, expand services and connect more patients with the care they need close to home.”

Through 22 cancer centers, more than 250 cancer specialists and about 100 clinical trials, Sutter seamlessly connects patients to coordinated cancer care close to home. In 2025, the integrated system cared for more than 129,000 cancer patients and diagnosed approximately 22,000 new cancer cases. More than 80% of patients receive care guided by National Comprehensive Cancer Network treatment recommendations, helping support that they get the most up-to-date, evidence-based cancer care.

Recent accomplishments across Sutter’s Advanced Cancer Service Line include:

Sutter’s largest recent investment in cancer care is the Advanced Cancer Center and Care Complex in Modesto. Scheduled to open in 2029, the $380 million, 165,000-square-foot facility will bring cancer screenings, clinic visits, infusion and radiation therapy, imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services, and clinical trials together in one location, expanding access to comprehensive cancer care across the Central Valley.
