Tiny toes, button noses and full hearts. Some of Sutter’s
smallest patients celebrated their first Valentine’s Day in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Sutter Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley and Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. Members of the babies’ care teams decorated priceless Valentine’s Day cards for the babies’ parents with poems, doilies and the babies’ own adorable footprints!

Having a baby prematurely or born with a serious health issue can be one of the most overwhelming events in a parent’s life. Through its NICUs, Sutter care teams provide life-saving technologies and compassionate support –which can be especially important on emotional days like holidays.

Sutter’s nine NICUs provide specialized medical care and the latest in technology to babies born prematurely or with serious health conditions.
