ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Sutter Health recently acquired seven acres of land in south Placer County for a proposed primary care center that will house Sutter Medical Group physicians. This acquisition is part of Sutter’s ongoing efforts to expand healthcare access to meet the incredible demand for its services in growing Northern California regions.

The 7.3-acre site is located on Highland Pointe Drive near the southeast intersection of Highway 65 and Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The proposed care center may offer a wide range of services, which could include primary care, urgent care and specialists, ensuring residents have convenient access to the care they need, when they need it. Sutter purchased the land for $4.95 million.

“Our purchase in Roseville, and comprehensive plans to expand clinical services, underscores Sutter Health’s dedication to improving healthcare accessibility and quality across Northern California,” said Warner Thomas, president and CEO of Sutter Health. “We are committed to our mission of caring for our patients first and our people always, and this includes reinvesting in our facilities, equipment and communities. This project is another example of how we are continuing to expand to meet the healthcare needs of residents in Roseville, Rocklin and surrounding communities and to support economic development in the region.”

Sutter is embarking on a course to increase access to its services across the south Placer region. Earlier this month, it announced plans to add 36 beds at Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Additional projects are in various stages of planning and are part of an overall plan to add 24 outpatient care centers in Sutter’s Northern California service areas.

Rachael McKinney, Sutter Health’s Greater Sacramento Market president, said the goal of the Highland Pointe project is to create a center that addresses both the current and future healthcare needs of the community.

“This project exemplifies our mission to provide comprehensive, integrated and connected care for getting and staying well,” she said. “Our aim is to deliver seamless, convenient care to support patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.”

While the project is in the early planning stages, Sutter remains committed to engaging with local stakeholders to ensure the new Roseville Highland Pointe Primary Care Center meets the unique needs of the community.

“Collaboration will be key throughout the development process, and we look forward to working with community leaders and keeping the community informed as further details of our plans progress,” said Gary Zufelt, ambulatory CEO for Sutter Medical Foundation and Sutter Health’s Greater Sacramento Market.

“Care center projects like Highland Pointe not only allow us to accommodate more patients, but also enable us to increase the number of physicians in growing communities like Roseville and Rocklin,” said Karun Grossman, M.D., chief medical officer for Sutter Medical Group and a practicing physician in the Sacramento region. “It’s a significant step forward, and anytime we can add medical professionals to a community, it’s a win for the residents.”
