Results of a survey released this month by the Pew Research Center suggest that, despite a slight increase in trust, scientists continue to face challenges regaining public engagement after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given these findings, physician-researchers across the U.S. have new opportunities to lead studies and share results to inform community health and wellness.

Physician leaders and learners at Sutter Health are among that “science-focused” cadre. Several were recognized for their contributions to the field of medicine and science at recent meetings including the American College of Physicians Northern California scientific sessions held last month, where topics from “Foundations to the Future of Medicine” were discussed.
