Dr. Singh tapped to support Sutter CPMC’s legacy of pioneering care and medical training
SAN FRANCISCO – Sutter Health today announced that Dr. Anup Singh has been named the new Chief Medical Executive at Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. He will begin his role in mid-June and will serve in a dyad leadership structure alongside newly named CPMC CEO Hollie Seeley.
Dr. Singh brings a wealth of clinical expertise and leadership experience to the position. He currently serves as chief medical executive at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, part of Sutter Health’s integrated system, where he has been instrumental in advancing high-quality care for patients across the region. At CPMC, he will oversee medical staff engagement, clinical quality and operational performance, while helping to drive innovation and coordination across inpatient and outpatient services.

At CPMC, residents and fellows train with physician mentors at the top of their fields in nationally renowned, accredited Graduate Medical Education programs across specialty areas of medicine including: advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, cardiovascular disease, internal medicine, gastroenterology, hand surgery, hematology-oncology, ophthalmology, pulmonary and critical care medicine, psychiatry and transplant hepatology. Under the leadership of Dr. Singh, Sutter will continue to strengthen its commitment to training future clinicians while supporting the exceptional physicians and physician leaders at CPMC who are driving high-quality, evidence-based care.
Prior to joining Sutter Health, Dr. Singh served at Lenox Hill Hospital (Northwell Health) in New York City, where he was the associate program director of the pulmonary critical care fellowship and director of the non-CF bronchiectasis program. Passionate about medical education, he has also taught bedside critical care ultrasound nationally through the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Singh earned his medical degree from Government Medical College in Chandigarh, India, and completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Northshore-LIJ Hospital in New York. He also holds an MBA in healthcare and a master’s degree in healthcare policy from Cornell University. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care.
