Caren Weakley will join Sutter Health as the new senior vice president and general counsel, supporting the organization’s bold new vision and strategy to become the most comprehensive, integrated and connected health system for getting and staying well. Weakley will serve as Sutter Health’s senior legal advisor providing executive oversight of all legal aspects, risk management and contributing to the strategic direction of the not-for-profit, integrated health system.

Weakley currently serves as the senior vice president and general counsel for Radiology Partners, the leading radiology organization in the United States, where she oversees all aspects of legal, compliance, risk and corporate insurance strategy, and is the senior-most counsel to the Board and management. Her background includes direct experience in litigation, enterprise risk management, crisis management, compliance, operations, audit, privacy, mergers and acquisitions, and complex contractual negotiations.
Prior to joining Radiology Partners, Weakley held progressively senior roles at DaVita Kidney Care, including serving as general counsel for operations, where she was responsible for providing legal support and guidance to the business operations of DaVita’s 2,700 outpatient dialysis centers. While at DaVita, Weakley also served in a business role as the vice president of clinical enterprise operations. She holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, completed her undergraduate degree at UCLA and is a certified leadership coach.
