Sponsorship to Improve Community Wellness through Youth Sports, Scholarships and Education

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. – CIF Sports Properties announced today the signing of a five-year sponsorship agreement designating Sutter Health, a leading California-based not-for-profit integrated health system, as the Official Healthcare Partner of the six California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Sections in Northern California through 2028. The six Sections include Northern, North Coast, Sac-Joaquin, Oakland, San Francisco and Central Coast. Sutter Health will also be designated as the presenting sponsor of the CIF Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

The sponsorship underscores Sutter Health’s commitment to the health and safety of high school student-athletes, their families and fans throughout its footprint in the Greater Northern California region.

As the presenting sponsor of the CIF State Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, CIF and Sutter Health will recognize college-bound high school seniors whose academic and athletic careers have been truly exemplary, and whose personal standards and accomplishments are a positive model for others. As the presenting sponsor of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Women in Sports Leadership Conference, Sutter will continue to champion female student-athletes. Additionally, Sutter will make health and wellness resources available for coaches and athletic trainers across all the Sections.

“We are happy to have Sutter Health as a partner,” said Bryan Powell, General Sales Manager. “Sutter Health is well known for its ongoing commitment to improving the health and wellness of our communities –a commitment the CIF shares. We look forward to this partnership flourishing at the grassroots level for years to come.”

“Sutter Health is pleased to support California Interscholastic Federation’s efforts to elevate the physical health and wellbeing of scholar-athletes in our communities. Like CIF, we understand the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion –as well as the relationship between success on the sports field with success in the classroom and in life. That’s why we’re proud to make this multiyear commitment to student-athletes in our communities,” said Jennifer Bollinger, Sutter Health chief consumer and brand officer.
