Seeley set to propel Sutter’s CPMC into next phase of growth, access and clinical excellence
SAN FRANCISCO – Sutter Health today announced Hollie Seeley as the new CEO of Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center, one of San Francisco’s leading tertiary and quaternary care hospitals. Seeley, an accomplished healthcare executive with deep operational and clinical experience, will begin her new role on June 9, 2025.
Seeley brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to CPMC, including nearly two decades as a registered nurse and a strong track record of hospital leadership. Most recently, she served as CEO of Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, where she led major clinical expansion and operational growth while achieving industry-leading performance in employee engagement, patient satisfaction and safety.
“Hollie’s leadership embodies the future of healthcare – innovative, people-centered and rooted in both clinical and operational excellence,” said Sutter Health president and CEO Warner Thomas. “She has a remarkable ability to unite teams, drive transformational change and elevate the care experience. CPMC is well positioned for a bold and impactful next chapter under her guidance.”
CPMC is a cornerstone of Sutter Health’s not-for-profit integrated system and a vital part of San Francisco’s healthcare landscape. As one of the city’s largest private employers and a regional referral center, CPMC delivers advanced care in heart health, neuroscience, organ transplant, women’s health, orthopedics, oncology and more. In just the past three years, Sutter has invested more than $8.5 million in community benefit programs focused on behavioral health, workforce development and access to care. Through partnerships with local nonprofits—such as Conard House, HealthRIGHT 360 and St. Anthony’s—and public agencies, CPMC continues to expand preventive and specialty care. Sutter also recently committed $13.6 million to launch a new mental health clinic and intensive outpatient program near CPMC’s Davies campus. Under Seeley’s leadership, Sutter will build on this strong foundation, further expanding access and deepening coordination across its physician-led care teams.
“Hollie is exactly the leader we need to take CPMC to the next level,” said Christina Oh, president of Sutter’s Greater San Francisco Division. “She’ll help grow our top programs in areas like neuroscience and advanced organ care, expand access for more patients and deepen collaboration across care teams—both within the hospital and across the region.”
“Hollie brings deep experience leading high-performing hospitals, a clear commitment to team engagement and a strong track record of clinical growth,” added Dr. Thomas Peitz, chief of staff at Sutter’s CPMC. “Her focus on quality, safety and outcomes will strengthen CPMC’s mission of delivering compassionate, world-class care.”
During her tenure in Sacramento, Seeley helped lead efforts that resulted in an ‘A’ Leapfrog safety grade and high percentile rankings in employee and patient satisfaction. Under her leadership, the hospital achieved an 8% increase in inpatient discharges in 2024, reflecting operational excellence and increased community impact. She was also recognized as Sutter Health’s New Leader of the Year (2024) and her team was honored with the A-Team Award for Patient Impact.
“It’s an honor to join the incredible team at Sutter’s CPMC,” said Seeley. “This medical center has a long-standing reputation for innovation, clinical excellence and compassionate care. I look forward to working together with our clinicians, staff and community to build on that legacy and deliver the best care possible for San Franciscans and beyond.”
Seeley holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colorado Denver. She is also a graduate of HCA Healthcare’s Executive Development Program and was named one of the Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
Her appointment comes at a pivotal time for CPMC, as the medical center continues to expand programs, train the next generation of caregivers and invest in leading-edge facilities – including construction on the new $442 million Sutter Advanced Neuroscience Complex, Mission Bernal, set to open in 2028.
Earlier this month, CPMC also announced the appointment of Anup Singh, M.D., as its new Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Singh most recently served in the same role at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital and will begin in mid-June. He will serve in a dyad leadership structure alongside Seeley, working together to advance clinical excellence and operational performance across the CPMC campuses.
