NOVATO, Calif.  – Lisa Gammon, RN, MSN, has been named new chief administrative officer and chief nurse executive at Novato Community Hospital, a position she has held on an interim basis since earlier this year.

As CAO, Gammon will provide critical leadership in a variety of operational and administrative areas, including working with Sutter Health leadership as the health system continues to grow and expand its services. In her role as chief nurse executive, Gammon will also be responsible for leading and administering day-to-day operations associated with direct patient care activities, as well as clinical education and development.

“Lisa is committed to creating a positive work environment, promoting excellent and compassionate care, expanding clinical services and enhancing Novato Community Hospital’s reputation in the community,” said Dr. Warren Browner, Area CEO, Sutter Health West Bay.

Gammon joined the not-for-profit integrated health network Sutter Health in 2008 as manager of the neonatal intensive care unit at Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital. In 2015, she was welcomed at Sutter in Novato, serving as the hospital’s director of nursing and director of quality and patient safety, while also overseeing the hospital’s environmental and food and nutrition services programs. Under Gammon’s leadership, Novato achieved a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 5-Star rating in 2021 and 2022.

“It’s a privilege to work alongside this incredible team of nurses, doctors and health care staff each day,” said Gammon. “I am grateful for the outpouring of support the community has shown our hospital throughout the years and especially during the pandemic. We look forward to continuing to provide high-quality, exceptional care to every patient now and well into the future.”

Gammon grew up in Marin County, received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chico State University and completed a master’s degree in nursing leadership and management at Sonoma State University. She is also a graduate of Sutter Leadership Academy.
