Vaccine disparities are some of the latest examples in the COVID-19 care divide. A fear of unexpected out-of-pocket costs—even though the vaccine is free—has been suggested as one of the most recent driving factors.

As more revelations about health inequity come to light, the importance of learning how to better provide care to communities of color grows. In the latest “After the Fact,” a podcast from Pew Charitable Trusts, clinical experts explain how using electronic health record information and data collection can address health disparities and translate to bedside care. The podcast features Kristen M.J. Azar, R.N., MSN/MPH, scientific medical director, and Stephanie Y. Brown, M.D., MPH, clinical lead, from Sutter Health’s Institute for Advancing Health Equity.
