National publication Modern Healthcare has named Sutter Health Chief Digital Officer Laura Wilt to its 2024 Innovators List. The award recognizes leaders and organizations driving innovation that improves care, achieves measurable results and contributes to clinical and financial goals.
Wilt’s work since joining Sutter Health in 2023 checks all the boxes—and then some. As Chief Digital Officer, Wilt’s focus is on unifying and advancing the digital strategy and vision for Sutter Health, which is not only one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems with more than 3.4 million patients, but also delivers care in one of the nation’s most diverse and innovative regions. In a field marked by advancing technology, she describes her work as “people-centered.”
“Technology should be measured by how it helps us improve the patient experience and outcomes and how it eases physician and care team workloads,” Wilt said. “We see endless opportunities to deliver an even more personal, connected and convenient experience.”
Wilt has strategically scaled this vision and strategy for improved digital solutions across Sutter by creating a digital roadmap—informed by a comprehensive review of the patient experience at every touchpoint—to meet modern consumer patient expectations. Already, new tools are connecting patients to care faster and more conveniently and lightening administrative burdens on physicians and clinicians, all of which enhances accessibility and efficiency.
Most recently, she was one of the key leaders behind Sutter’s newly opened Innovation Center, a dynamic hub where technology partners, leaders, physicians, clinicians and employees come together to collaborate and shape the future of healthcare.
The profiles of the honorees are featured in the April 8, 2024, issue of Modern Healthcare magazine and online at ModernHealthcare.com/Innovator-Awards.
