SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rachael McKinney, president of Sutter Health’s Greater Sacramento Market, welcomed Hollie Seeley this week as the new chief executive officer for the health system’s flagship hospital, Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.

Seeley brings a wealth of varied healthcare experience to her role, having started her career as a registered nurse and most recently was president and CEO of North Suburban Medical Center in Colorado.

“Hollie’s extensive experience and proven success in healthcare leadership make her an ideal fit for this role,” said McKinney, who was Sutter Medical Center’s CEO for the past two years. “As CEO, she will play a key role in advancing our Sutter Health Destination 2030 goals at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.”

At North Suburban Medical Center in Colorado, Seeley oversaw a 157-bed acute care hospital, two free-standing emergency departments and AirLife Denver. Her achievements at North Suburban include service line development, substantial volume growth and strategic talent acquisition, with notable success in employee and physician engagement.

Seeley’s background also includes serving as the chief operating officer and interim CEO at Rose Medical Center, a 422-bed hospital in Denver, where she successfully navigated the facility through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond her executive roles, Hollie’s decade-long experience as a registered nurse at various healthcare institutions – including as a life-flight helicopter nurse – adds a valuable perspective to her leadership.

“Hollie’s dedication to patient-centered care and commitment to excellence align seamlessly with our core values,” McKinney said, “and we look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly bring to our medical center.”

Seeley takes over for McKinney, who in fall 2023 was named Sutter Health’s market president for Greater Sacramento.

“I am honored and thrilled to be joining the Sutter Health team,” Seeley said. “Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has a fantastic reputation, and I am excited to work alongside the team to continue providing great care to our community.”

Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento has 523 licensed beds, with dedicated adult and pediatric emergency departments, a comprehensive hospital for children, the largest and highest-level neonatal intensive care unit in Northern California, and nationally renowned institutes for cardiac, neurosciences and oncology care. In 2023, it celebrated its 100th anniversary of providing care for Sacramentans at its campus in midtown’s Sutter District. For more, visit www.sutterhealth.org.
