Citing her leadership and the lasting impact of her work, Reuters has named Sutter Health’s Jennifer Bollinger to its list of Trailblazing Women in Healthcare, released today in recognition of International Women’s Day. Bollinger joined Sutter Health in early 2023 as the healthcare system’s Chief Consumer & Brand Officer.

Bollinger leads Sutter’s Marketing, Communications, Patient Experience, Contact Center and Access to Care teams to further elevate the organization’s reputation and brand and increase consumer engagement with the health system by delivering a more connected and digital patient experience. In response to news of the recognition, Bollinger said that she’s always strived to be a catalyst for change through both influence and collaboration.

“Over the last decade, my mission has been to develop and implement strategies that more seamlessly connect the in-person and digital healthcare experience in ways that both patients and caregivers value,” she said. “At Sutter Health, I’m energized by the work we’re doing to transform the way we are meeting the modern consumer expectations of our patients and growing to serve more people.”

Her first year at Sutter Health was marked by an effort informed by extensive internal engagement and input to reframe the organization’s mission, vision and values to capture today’s Sutter Health. Bollinger and her team also led the development of a refreshed brand that reflects the energy, tenacity and compassion of teams across the organization. She also directs the pivotal work now underway to create a seamless, modern experience for Sutter Health’s patients that not only provides greater access, but also greater satisfaction.

Before joining Sutter Health, Bollinger most recently served as Senior Vice President, Chief Consumer Officer at Ochsner Health. Under her leadership, the organization built and delivers an industry-leading digital consumer experience, achieved top quartile patient experience across all care settings and developed custom access solutions to increase capacity and reduce friction for both patients and care teams.

During her 11 years at Ochsner, Bollinger also led its Corporate Communications, Public Relations and Digital teams. Together, the division launched multi-channel, industry award-winning, internal branding, and engagement initiatives, procured significant media coverage to position Ochsner as a national thought leader, increased brand awareness across the region, and optimized partnerships throughout the region. Prior to joining Ochsner, Bollinger spent nearly 25 years leading teams at several strategic marketing and communications agencies to serve national and international clients in the hospitality, consumer product and healthcare industries.
