Seven Sutter Hospitals Recognized as America’s Best by Healthgrades

NORTHERN CALIF. — Seven hospital campuses in Sutter Health’s not-for-profit system begin the year with a significant achievement, receiving national recognition from Healthgrades as America’s Best Hospitals for 2025.

In fact, Sutter Health is the most awarded health system in California, with more America’s Best recipients and specialty achievements than any other health system in the state. Sutter Health joins Mayo Clinic as the only two health systems in the nation with four hospitals each ranked among America’s 50 Best for 2025.

Sutter hospitals earning Healthgrades awards for overall clinical quality include:

  • Sutter’s Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame, Calif.) – Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the 12th year in a row. The hospital has ranked as one of America’s Best longer than any other hospital in California.
  • Sutter Roseville Medical Center – Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the 10th consecutive year
  • Sutter’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center – Summit Campus (Oakland, Calif.) – Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the second year in a row
  • Sutter’s Memorial Medical Center (Modesto, Calif.) – Among America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the second year in a row
  • Sutter’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center – Alta Bates Campus (Berkeley, Calif.) – Among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for the third year in a row
  • Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center – Van Ness Campus (San Francisco, Calif.) – Among America’s 250 Best Hospitals for third year in a row
  • Sutter’s Eden Medical Center (Castro Valley, Calif.) – Among America’s 250 Best Hospitals, and making this prestigious list for the first time
