National industry publication Modern Healthcare named Sutter Amador Hospital this week as a Best Place to Work in Healthcare in 2024, driven largely by the input of the hospitals’ own employees.

It is the sixth year that the Amador County hospital, part of Sutter Health’s integrated, not-for-profit network, has been honored by Modern Healthcare as one of the Best Places to Work. It is the only hospital in Northern California to make the list.

“This accomplishment remains possible only because of your collaboration, hard work and dedication,” said Michel Cureton, Sutter Amador Hospital CEO. “Our hospital is one of the best places to receive care and one of the best places to work in the country – and that level of achievement does not happen by accident.”

This award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey.

“The winners of the 2024 Best Places to Work awards really get it,” Dan Peres, president of Modern Healthcare. “They show us how vital it is to understand what employees want and need right now. With healthcare shifting so much, finding the right people is a top priority, and the winners know that keeping their team happy is the key to business success.”

The complete list of this year’s winners, in alphabetical order, is available at ModernHealthcare.com/bestplaceslist. Modern Healthcare will publish a special supplement featuring a ranked list of all winners in October.
