Sutter East Bay Medical Group Honored for Quality Care

Sutter East Bay Medical Group was recently recognized by the Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) as a Most Improved provider organization during the 2023 Measurement Year (MY) of IHA’s Align. Measure. Perform. program, focused on Medicare Advantage patients.

The Most Improved distinction recognizes provider organizations that have successfully improved quality of care for Medicare Advantage populations. To earn this recognition, organizations must improve their overall star rating by at least half a star compared to the previous measurement year.

Sutter East Bay Medical Group improved from three stars in MY 2022 to 3.5 stars in MY 2023.

“Sutter Health is deeply committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to the communities we proudly serve,” said Arzou Ahsan, M.D., president and CEO of Sutter East Bay Medical Group. “This recognition from the Integrated Healthcare Association highlights the unwavering dedication of our teams who always put our patients first and aim to exceed expectations in every aspect of care.”

In existence since 2003, the Align. Measure. Perform. program gives provider organizations a complete picture of their quality, patient experience ratings and resource use, to encourage ongoing improvement. Unique to California, the program collects standardized data from over 200 provider organizations to create reliable performance scores. This commitment to consistency has another benefit too: top performers can be publicly recognized annually.

About IHA’s AMP programs

IHA’s Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) programs use a fair and transparent approach to measurement and benchmarking to create a reliable assessment of performance for medical groups, and IPAs across health plans. The AMP programs are recognized nationally for partnering with organizations across California and the nation to drive meaningful changes that reduce costs and improve healthcare quality and outcomes. Paired with the insights from IHA’s California Regional Health Care Cost & Quality Atlas, the AMP programs help partners reduce the reporting burden for payers and providers by using a standard measure set to deliver objective data and analysis that support performance improvement.
