Rohnert Park Care Center Will Provide Convenient Primary Care and Urgent Care Options to Growing Families and Community

SANTA ROSA, Calif. – Sutter Health announced this week it has leased 17,000 square feet of medical office space at 6000 State Farm Drive in Rohnert Park that will house Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods physicians.

“Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods has a long-established presence in Rohnert Park and this new facility will allow us to bring more medical services and physicians to this growing region,” said Dr. Gary McLeod, the group’s president and CEO. “We’re looking forward to expanding Sutter’s footprint of care in Rohnert Park and providing convenient healthcare options close to where people live and work.”

Sutter Health’s Rohnert Park Care Center will offer primary care, urgent care and other services, giving local community members and growing families same-day access to its recognized high-quality outpatient medical care.

This investment is part of Sutter’s broader plan to add more than 25 new ambulatory (outpatient) care centers across Northern California in the next few years.

New Front Doors for Patients

“This location is an ideal spot for the future growth of healthcare in Southern Sonoma County,” said Christina Oh, president of Sutter’s Greater San Francisco area. “Not only are we going to increase primary care access for our patients, but we’re adding our first urgent care in Rohnert Park that will be open after hours and on weekends. People living in this area can feel confident about having a convenient place to receive expert, same-day care.”

The Rohnert Park Care Center will consist of 24 exam rooms (16 for primary care and eight for urgent care) as well as space for lab services, such as blood draws, and diagnostic imaging services, including X-ray, CT and ultrasound. The first-floor space also allows for future growth into adjacent vacant suites on both the first and second floors.

Meeting Growing Demands

Sutter maintains a strong presence in Santa Rosa, including Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, but there’s a clear need for primary care services in Southern Sonoma County. The populations of Rohnert Park and Cotati, home to many young families displaced by the Tubbs Fire, are growing, and many residents of these two cities seek care outside the area due to limited service options.

“We know from our research there are thousands of residents in the Rohnert Park-Cotati service area who want to be treated at a Sutter facility, by a Sutter physician,” said Erin Neal, ambulatory CEO, for Sutter’s Greater San Francisco area. “Our goal is to be able to accommodate them and we are quickly activating on a plan to do just that. This is an exciting new chapter in healthcare for Sutter staff and members of our community.”

With new facilities and services strategically located, the aim is to increase access to primary and specialty care doctors and provide timely access to essential healthcare services.

The new Rohnert Park Care Center is scheduled to open in spring 2025, following a full renovation of the leased space.  Staff members and physicians currently working at Sutter’s Snyder Lane Clinic in Rohnert Park will transition to the new, larger location at 6000 State Farm Drive. Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods plans to add between eight to 12 new providers and clinicians to meet demand.

“We are excited about the opportunity to enhance healthcare access for residents of Rohnert Park and the surrounding communities,” said Oh. “We hope to build on Sutter’s established reputation in Petaluma and Santa Rosa as we extend outpatient care services in this community. We look forward to sharing further details as our plans progress.”
