Statement from Dr. William Isenberg, Sutter Health Chief Medical and Quality Officer
“Access to safe, personal, culturally equitable healthcare is core to our mission and should be afforded to every person in this country. We are troubled and disappointed by the ruling removing FDA approval of mifepristone. Sutter is reviewing the decisions from today and will follow the law. Doctors, pharmacists, nurses and others should be able to take care of their patients without fear of retribution and without interference from politicians or courts.
“We are increasingly concerned about the attacks on providers’ ability to provide women’s healthcare across the country. The essential and deeply personal relationship between a patient and their healthcare provider is sacred and must be protected.”
