Sutter Health continues to expand access to high-quality health care in the greater Silicon Valley with the start of construction on two new primary care centers in Santa Clara and San Jose that will begin serving patients next year.

“We are excited to increase our existing presence in the South Bay and create even more opportunities for communities to access our services,” said Kevin Cook, president of Sutter Health’s Greater Silicon Valley area. “These new care centers reflect our commitment to create more healthcare opportunities across our system, especially in Silicon Valley, where demand for exceptional care continues to grow.”

Sutter Health is beginning to renovate an 8,700-square-foot facility at 1111 Washington Street in Santa Clara (pictured) to establish a primary care center serving the local community.

Sutter is repurposing an 8,700 square-feet building at 1111 Washington St. in Santa Clara and transforming it into a primary care center that will serve the local community. Conveniently located just one-half mile from Santa Clara University, the clinic will offer internal medicine, family medicine, general radiology/X-ray and laboratory services that are easily accessible and close to home. The care center will house five clinicians and is expected to welcome its first patients in early 2026.

In San Jose, 18,501 square-feet of existing office space is being reimagined for primary medical care. When it opens next spring, the Sutter Santa Teresa Care Center, located at 6399 San Ignacio Ave., will offer internal/family medicine and pediatrics, lab, X-ray and ultrasound services. A total of 14 clinicians will serve patients at the site starting in spring of 2026.

“We are thrilled to enhance healthcare access for residents of San Jose and Santa Clara, including the Santa Clara University community,” said Teresa Sarlitto, vice president of Ambulatory Operations & Facilities Planning, Sutter Health Greater Silicon Valley Division. “In addition to bringing more doctors and care teams to the area, these centers will streamline care and help improve health outcomes by offering much-needed diagnostic imaging and laboratory services.”

Sutter Health’s expansion in Silicon Valley is part of a plan to add 27 new ambulatory care centers across the system in the next few years. This includes the development of approximately one-million square-feet across two healthcare campuses in Santa Clara, announced late last year.
