SACRAMENTO, Calif. — National industry publication Modern Healthcare today named Sutter Amador Hospital and Sutter Davis Hospital as Best Places to Work in Healthcare in 2021, driven largely by the input of the hospitals’ own employees.
The two acute-care facilities in Sutter Health’s integrated, not-for-profit network are the only Northern California hospitals to be named by Modern Healthcare as Best Places to Work. It is the 11th year that Sutter Davis has been honored and the fourth for Sutter Amador, which is located in Jackson, Calif.
“This honor is only possible because of our teams’ collaboration, hard work and dedication,” said Rachael McKinney, CEO of Sutter Davis Hospital. “They rose to the challenge at every turn to serve and lead our communities through a global health emergency never experienced before in our modern time.”
Tom Dickson, CEO of Sutter Amador Hospital, said this year’s honor is even more gratifying due to the challenges presented by the coronavirus pandemic. “Our physicians, doctors, nurses and support staff worked hard to give the best care possible for all residents of our area, and their hard work and compassion for their neighbors is evident in this award.”
The Best Places to Work in Healthcare award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide, choosing just 75 in the provider/insurer category and another 75 suppliers. Methodology includes evaluating an organization’s workplace policies, practices and demographics. Employee survey results make up the majority of the evaluation, which measure the overall employee experience. Modern Healthcare partners with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process.
