Sutter Health was recently named a Top Performer in Reputation’s 2024 Healthcare Reputation Report. Reputation, a global leader in reputation management, looked at the top 50 acute care hospitals from integrated delivery networks by revenue and ranked them by Reputation Score. Sutter Health placed 15th on the list, signifying that it excels at actively listening to and responding to patient feedback online.

As a system, Sutter scored in the 85th percentile in engagement. This score highlights the dedicated work of Sutter’s teams to monitor comments and respond to patients across digital channels. Reputation says high review response rates set the top-ranked hospitals apart from their competition.

“We want to make sure our patients’ entire experience at Sutter is the best it can possibly be every time they interact with our system. This includes before, during and after a visit,” said Jennifer Bollinger, Sutter Health senior vice president and chief consumer & brand officer. “This recognition is a reflection of the great strides we’re making across Sutter Health to ensure we are listening and engaging with patients where it matters to them.”

Sutter’s physicians and care centers were also recognized recently for earning top-notch patient praise. This year, more than 100 physicians and 29 Sutter care locations earned a reputation 800 Award for putting patients first by listening to and acting on their comments. Sutter scores ranged from 801 to 904. Click here to view a list of Sutter physicians and care centers recognized.

For its 2024 Healthcare Reputation Report rankings, Reputation analyzed millions of pieces of reputation performance data from hundreds of sources. Reputation also surveyed consumers about how they searched for and choose a doctor. Unsurprisingly, ratings and reviews greatly influenced healthcare decisions. Nearly 86% of consumers said they read online patient reviews, and 73% said they view four stars as the minimum rating they would need to see to engage with a new physician. Reputation’s research found that over the past five years, patient feedback volume has increased by 150% in the healthcare industry.

Measured on a scare of 100 to 1,000, Reputation’s proprietary Reputation Score is a comprehensive index of online visibility, engagement, and customer sentiment. Each score includes multiple factors; including review sentiment, business listing accuracy, search impressions, social engagement and other indicators that reflect consumers’ experiences, opinions and perceptions.
