Sutter Health has named Dr. Shawn Kile as Chair of its Neuroscience Service Line, where he will help lead systemwide strategy and elevate neuroscience care across the integrated network. In this role, Dr. Kile will serve as physician dyad partner to Jean Minton, vice president of Sutter’s Neuroscience Service Line. His appointment begins May 12, 2025.

“Dr. Kile is a visionary leader in the care and science of memory disorders and has long been committed to integrating neuroscience care across Sutter Health. His appointment reflects Sutter’s continued investment in delivering high-quality, consistent and proactive care for all neurologic conditions,” said Minton. “Dr. Kile’s leadership will help shape the future of neuroscience at Sutter and build on our longstanding commitment to excellent care for the communities we serve.”

As Chair, Dr. Kile will guide strategic initiatives, clinical programming and capital planning, as well as drive research, philanthropic and quality initiatives. He, alongside Minton, will also oversee a team of section chiefs representing key neuroscience subspecialties – such as dementia, epilepsy and stroke – who together form Sutter’s Neuroscience Clinical Council. This group will work to strengthen care pathways, expand access to clinical trials and training and find new ways to collaborate and share clinical best practices across Sutter.
