AI Symptom Checker ADA

In partnership with ADA Health, Sutter Health launched an AI-powered symptom assessment and care navigation platform. The ‘symptom checker’, available to all patients from the Sutter Health website and My Health Online patient portal, gives our 3+ million patients access to a personalized care experience. By supporting patients at the onset of first symptoms of illness and helping them navigate to the appropriate care, ADA helps direct people to the right care, in the right place, and at the right time.

Pre-publication data showed broad use of Sutter Health’s symptom checker with 25,646 assessments performed over a 10-month study period (April ‘19 to Feb ‘20), with a skew towards younger and female users. Triage recommendations are comparable to those of nurse-staffed triage lines.
