Dr. Atkin, a fixture in the orthopedic community, has received a notable industry recognition after 25 years’ service in San Francisco and beyond.

SAN FRANCISCO – The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) presented its 2021 Humanitarian Award to Dave M. Atkin, M.D., FAAOS, of San Francisco on September 2, 2021. Dr. Atkin is a longtime orthopedic surgeon affiliated with Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center.

The AAOS Humanitarian Award honors members who have distinguished themselves through outstanding musculoskeletal-related humanitarian activities in the United States or abroad.

Dr. Atkin was recognized for more than 25 years of humanitarian efforts with a steadfast commitment and dedication to serving underserved communities and people in need, including his work with at Sutter’s CPMC Mission Bernal campus, and leadership roles at Operation Rainbow and the MeWater Foundation.
