Sutter Health opened the doors to its newest care center in Livermore, expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care for communities along the I-580 corridor. Located at 7683 Southfront Road, the newly renovated 11,000-square-foot facility features 16 state-of-the-art exam rooms and houses eight experienced providers specializing in internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, imaging and lab services.

The opening marks a significant milestone in Sutter’s broader plan to bring more than 25 new ambulatory care centers to communities across Northern California in the coming years. The Livermore center underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to meeting patients where they are — literally and figuratively.

“We’re so excited to be providing primary care, imaging and children’s health services to the community,” said Catherine Krna, ambulatory CEO of Sutter Health’s Greater Silicon Valley Division. “Livermore and the patients in the community have been saying that they are desirous of care closer to home. It’s going to be great and we’re really excited to be here.”

“This location provides (Livermore residents) with a care center where they can come in for an urgent visit, a chronic care visit or some other type of visit. It is an incredible advantage to improving the experience of our patients and for the quality of care we can provide to this community,” said Dr. Kurt VandeVort, center, CEO of the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group. With him are Dr. Todd Smith, left, Sutter Health senior vice president and chief physician executive, and Livermore Vice Mayor Evan Branning.

From the ground up, the new center was designed with the community in mind. Each room was built to be accessible and inclusive, ensuring comfort for all patients, including those with disabilities or additional needs. Specialized pediatric exam rooms feature colorful, engaging decor to ease anxiety and foster a welcoming environment for children and families.

Community-inspired artwork, reflective of Livermore’s cultural identity, is featured throughout the space — creating a warm and familiar environment for patients of all ages.

“Livermore is home to California’s oldest wine region and of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and it has a thriving arts culture,” said Dr. Soham Jhaveri, an internal medicine physician at Palo Alto Medical Foundation. “It has a rich cultural history with significant population growth in the last 10 years. This growth, combined with a rich cultural history, makes Livermore an ideal place to open our newest primary care clinic. We hope that this partnership with the community will grow as we serve and contribute to improving the health of its residents.”

The new center will also serve as a key access point for patients in the Tri-Valley and nearby Central Valley, who often travel long distances for care. The site’s central location and proximity to major highways make it easy for patients to integrate care into their daily routines — whether during a lunch break or after dropping children off at school.

“We have a specialty care center not far from here; yet, we know that primary care services near the home of patients is critical,” said Dr. Kurt VandeVort, CEO of the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group, a medical group of approximately 2,100 physicians and advanced practice clinicians caring for PAMF patients. “This location provides them with a care center where they can come in for an urgent visit, a chronic care visit or some other type of visit. It is an incredible advantage to improving the experience of our patients and for the quality of care we can provide to this community.”

As Sutter Health continues to grow, the Livermore Care Center stands as a shining example of how thoughtful design, compassionate care and strategic expansion can come together to improve lives — one patient at a time.
